Eurostars focuses on stimulating international cooperation in the field of research and development projects (O&O). The program is currently supported by 34 countries and combines the national programs to support R & D executive SMEs so that the available funds can be used better and more efficiently.

Who can submit?
- The research executive SME (research performing SME);
- Other organizations can also participate in Eurostars projects under certain conditions. There must always be cooperation between parties from at least 2 Eurostars.
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Korea, South, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom.
In the Netherlands, the subsidy amounts to a maximum of 50% of the eligible costs of the Dutch participants. The subsidy percentage depends on the project activities and the nature of the participants. Companies receive 35% for research and 25% for development activities. SMEs receive an extra 10%. For knowledge institutes these percentages are 50% and 25% respectively. The maximum contribution is € 500,000 per project. Eurostars is generic: all technology and application areas are welcome.
The total budget for the Eurostars is over € 1.1 billion. The Dutch budget is almost € 18 million per year. This budget is divided over 2 calls.
The next closing date for submitting international project proposals is 12 September 2019.
